Summer Term Update 2016
We hope you have all had a lovely Easter break. The nursery has undergone a makeover during the holidays and we are very happy with the result we hope you all like it too. We would like to welcome Elsa and Brenan to join us.
Hopefully we will now be having lots of sunshine for the children to enjoy. This is a very busy term with lots going on so please make sure you keep an eye out for any e-mails, letters and posts on the nursery website and our Facebook page.
PE in the school hall. We have arranged with the school that the children will be going over to use the school hall once a week in the morning to do a little p.e session. We are going to alternate the days so that all children will have an opportunity to take part.
Sun Cream and Sun Hats. As the weather is getting warmer we would ask that you provide a named sun cream and sun hat that we are able to keep at nursery for your child. I must stress when it is very warm if we do not have sun cream for your child they will not be allowed any further then under the canopy in the garden.
Children starting school in September , Lots of our children will be leaving to join school in September. please can I ask that you let us know what school your child will be attending and any visits that they have. We will of course liaise with all schools and pass on information regarding your childs learning and development. We are working with the children to ensure they are fully prepared for school and ask that you support this with encouraging your child to do their own coats and shoes, wiping themselves after the toilet etc. Staff as ever will support and help children but these are skills that will really help them when they start school. We will be doing lots of things after half term such as turning our role play area into a school, school uniform to dress up in, stories about school and much more. Please feel free to share any ideas you have that we could do to support the children in their next step to big school.
Fishers farm trip Friday 20th May Firstly can I ask that if you are coming with us and you have not already paid that we receive your payment by Friday 29th April. The cost is £8.50 per person. We do need this in advance to ensure we can pay them to get the group discount. The farm opens at 10.00am. If we all meet in the care park close to the entrance at around 9:45am then we can all go in together, you are welcome to go off from the group with your children but I must stress your children are your responsibility and not that of the staff that will be attending with us. We will be given a place we can leave bags etc and where we can all meet to have lunch. You are more then welcome to leave any time you like. Staff will be leaving around 2:30 to be back at nursery for 3pm.
Garden Update We really want to have a push over the events we have planned for the summer regarding the fundraising. We are awaiting a decision from one of our lovely parents that has really worked hard to secure support for us with the plan to resurface the garden. This could at least half the amount we need to raise therefore we are all very keen to maximise on every opportunity, I am sure you will support us with this. The more we raise the quicker we will be able to make the outside area better for all your children!
Swimming pool Party Saturday 18th June Last year this was a great success and we hope you will all be joining us again this year . Swimming will again be in time slots and times will be released closer to the time. We will also be having a BBQ, various stalls and games for everyone. We will also be offering outside businesses the opportunity to have a stall. If you or anyone you know would be interested please let us know. Fingers crossed for the sun to shine. This is open to everyone so the more the merrier. We will also be asking for parents donations and any help anyone can offer us on the day with running a stall etc.
Nursery Sports Day Friday 10th June All children are invited to attend as are all parents, grandparents and anyone else that would like to cheer the children on. There will be a number of activities going on and the children will be in teams. We are going to be holding this in the far corner of the village green instead of the school field this year, this is because we would like to invite all the parents, carers and anyone else that would like to join us for a picnic after the sports day activities. We will be aiming to begin sports day activities at 10:30 and for the picnic to commence around 12.00. Closer to the time we will let you know the colour of the group your child is in and ask that they were that colour.
Village Fayre Saturday 2nd July We have been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to run the BBQ for the Fayre. We really want to make sure this is a great success and can really help to boost our garden fundraising efforts. Again any ideas, suggestions, offers of help, BBQ masters, or BBQs we could borrow would all be greatly received.
Leavers Party Friday 15th July This will be for the children leaving us to join School only. This means if your child attends a Friday afternoon and they are not leaving for school they will need to be collected at 12.00. The party will be 12-2 so all children will need to be collected by 2pm. There will be party games and a leaving ceremony for the children. More details will follow closer to the time.
